The Rum Diary (2011)

by Milos Itic on February 22, 2012

Rum Diary is the average film by any element of it. It is a comedy, but there is not a single moment of laughing, it is a drama, but no intrigue, thriller but no plot. Only some kind of story.

Johnny Depp Rum Diary

Actually, film is no comedy, no thriller, no drama. It looks like failed style exercise for fans of Johnny Depp. Film is OK to see because of beautifully parts of Puerto Rico town. This suppose to be a wild and crazy story about a drunken journalist “Depp” who goes to Puerto Rico and always stays drunk. “American journalist Paul Kemp takes on a freelance job in Puerto Rico for a local newspaper during the 1950s and struggles to find a balance between island culture and the expatriates which live there. “

“Fear and Loathing” is much better adaptation of a novel.
