It is a stormy night at the Black Mirror Castle…

Black mirror is the linear mystery dark thriller horror 3rd person point and click adventure game, that takes place somewhere in England. The Black Mirror’s story feels like a mixture of Edgar Allan Poe, H.P. Lovecraft and Clive Barker.

The game starts with William Gordon writing a letter to his grandson Samuel and then jumping (or being thrown) from his window to his death. You play as Samuel Gordon, who is back to the Gothic mansion ‘Black Mirror’ that he left many years before.
Everyone seems to believe that William’s death was a suicide but you – Samuel – don’t. You start an unofficial investigation into the circumstances of William’s death.
Black Mirror castle and the nearby area is where most of the game’s story takes place.

Siome of the game attribute are: The various rooms, buildings, and landscapes are beautifully rendered. Very good atmosphere and very interesting and fascinating location. Solid voice acting. Typical ‘adventure’ gameplay mechanics are involved in progressing through the chapters.

The weather effects are very atmospheric for a 2D game adding greatly to the realism of the game. The cut-scenes are very carefully thought out and presented, building up to what should be a chilling conclusion.

Conclusion: “The Black Mirror” is one of those adventure games that almost reaches greatness.
