  2. Ron Carter (1937) – Americanjazzdouble-bassist. His appearances on over 2,500 albums make him one of the most-recorded bassists in jazz history, along with Milt Hinton, Ray Brown and Leroy Vinnegar. Carter is also an acclaimed cellist who has recorded numerous times on that instrument

  8. Michael Ryan Pritchard (1972) – American musician, best known as the bassist, backing vocalist and co-founder of the American punk rock band Green Day. While at school, he would play “air-bass.” While pretending to pluck the strings, he made the noise, “dirnt, dirnt, dirnt”. As a result, his schoolmates began to call him “Mike Dirnt”
